In the year 150 A.D. Ptolomy XIH, brother of Cleopatra, issued an edict that Earth was the center of the Universe and all heavenly bodies revolved around it. This belief survived for 1400 years until Nicolaus Copernicus published his masterpiece. Concerning the Revolution of the Celestial Spheres, in 1543. This concept laid the foundation for the telescopic discoveries of Galileo, the three planetary laws of Johannes Kepler (who failed in attempts to find the elusive Fourth Law of Planetary Motion) and the gravitational principle of Sir Isaac Newton, all contributing to the Copemican revolution that even today continues to open pathways to understanding how everything came into being. But there are serious caveats.
As has been true since the days of Ptolomy, some myths of science remain entrenched in the minds of many scientists. Although highly speculative, some-remain today as effective and as erroneous as Ptolo- my's Earth-centered edict in stymieing the progress of more factually-based scenarios of the origins of solar systems and the evolution of planets. In such cases, one might conclude that the greatest obstacle to advancement in the sciences of planetary origins and evolution is the illusion of knowledge.
Scientific myths explored in this book include the Big Bang (E. A. Poe, 1848), the planetary accretion hypothesis (Laplace, 1796), the fossil fuels hypothesis (Logan, 1830s, Haldane, 1920s), the nature and source of asteroids, the nature and source of comets (Whipple, 1950, Kuiper), the cause of extinction of the dinosaurs, an iron core in Planet Earth, the origin of planetary rings, the origin of our Moon, how stars form, and how elements were and are created.
In The Spacing of Planets: The Solution to a 400- Year Mystery, each of these myths is
displaced by a more plausible and definitive concept carefully pieced together throughout
the years of 1973 - 1996; each concept intermeshes precisely with all others. As expressed
by a book reviewer at Yale Scientific.
"Scarborough leaves no holes in his persuasive argument. His impeccable logic,
accurate facts, and sound evidence rewrite dogma in a manner that would stifle almost any
attempt at a rebuttal."
The author's solution (1980 - 1995) to the enigmatic Fourth Law of Planetary Motion (Chapter 1) that first eluded Kepler in 1595 proved to be the magical link that ties everything together in his revolutionary LB/FLINE paradigm and brought the Copernican Revolution into the 21st century. One reader, Brigadier General Gordon C. Carson, expresses it best: "I read the book several times and find it to be in the most brilliant and fascinating work I have seen in many years."
Once these myths of science are displaced, mankind's understanding of the planetary sciences will be brought full circle at a pace faster than the initial Copernicus - Galileo - Kepler - Newton era of the Copernican Revolution. It now seems only a question of time.
EXCERPTS FROM LETTERS, BOOK REVIEWS, AUTHOR
Subject: UNDERMINING THE ENERGY CRISIS (1977). (On die origins and evolution of hydrocarbon fuels by means of natural laws: via internal nucleosynthesis, evolution, polymerization).
"...you did excellent for your first book, and beyond measure for your theories. I am
glad for your achievement, proud of being associated with you in the past, and a little
envious, but inspired to try and get my own on the market as soon as I can."
"I think you should be nominated for the Nobel prize, and I will do my best to
achieve that for you." George Brawner, R & D Chemist Letter, March 20.1977.
Subject THE SPACING OF PLANETS: The Solution to a 400-Year Mystery (1996). www.iuniverse.com
"Any claim that the puzzling enigma of Earth's creation has been solved is
unbelievable until
you've read this book. ...perhaps the 20th century's most revolutionary, exciting and
authentic book on origins of Earth and planetary systems." Andrew Stephens, Engineer.
1996
"The feeling of excitement about this spellbinding book will prove contagious to
readers. New ideas that run counter to current beliefs are explored in an interesting,
factual and informative manner.
...difficult to estimate the tremendous impact it will have on science, energy and
economics worldwide." John E.Vamer, M.Chemistry. 1996
" ...his brilliant and far-reaching book...is a revolutionary concept and. as such,
is a work of courage that requires a paradigm shift in the thinking of planetary origins
by our scientific community, ...a definitive and testable alternative...the new Fourth Law
is the crucial key to understanding the origin of our solar system. Scarborough has done
our world a tremendous service, and THE SPACING OF PLANETS is the proof." Richard
Fuller, Senior Editor, Metaphysical Reviews. Jan 1997 "Scarborough leaves no holes in
his persuasive argument. His impeccable logic, accurate facts, and sound evidence rewrite
dogma in a manner that would stifle almost any attempt at a rebuttal."
DimitriVeras,Yale Scientific. Fall 1997
"Considering the human obsession with how we got here, any new thesis that expands
our under- standing is a welcome addition to the body of knowledge. Such is the case with
Alexander Scarborough's thesis. The Spacing of Planets, on the origin and evolution of our
solar system. Scarborough presents a cogent argument for a fourth law of planetary motion,
taking up where Kepler left off 400 years ago..." NEXUS Magazine. April-May 1998
"I read the book several times and find it to be the most brilliant and fascinating
work I have seen in many years." Brigadier General Gordon C. Carson III, Ret Letter.
Dec. 26, 2000.
"Established scientific theories die hard regardless of new facts. Whether you see
changes, you may lay the groundwork for changes in the future. Hang in there!!! " Ben
Sheffield, Engineer. Letter, Jan 14, 2001

The greatest obstacle to advancement in the sciences of origins and evolution is the illusion of knowledge.
Against speculative and unsubstantiated beliefs in origins and evolution, even the gods fight in vain. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why scientists have not achieved their goal of understanding universal origins and evolution, that word would be "consensus."
In science, the greatest joy is discovery of a revolutionary truth; the saddest tragedy resides within the reasons for, and the consequences of, it suppression.
